Blossom Sisters Dance & Performing Arts, Inc.

 is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization started by two sisters dedicated to building and enabling communities to participate in dance arts who are otherwise not able to afford it.

 

 

To provide professional dance art enrichment and mentoring programs to at-risk youth to encourage them to become healthy, creative, and responsible adults.  Our dance education and mentoring programs provide poise, grace, discipline, coordination and academic achievement while building self-esteem and self-confidence in youth that reside in under-served communities.

 

 Why Do Children Need Dance Arts? 

 

Statistics show 60% of our urban youth and teens that are not involved in extracurricular activities are more likely to engage in more games and excessive use; viewing more and become involved in a negative environment. 

 

Children may face challenges due to:

 

  •  Media stereotypes that contribute to low self-esteem, confidence  and self- image

  •  Discrimination based on gender, race, religion or economic status

  •  Inferior to their counterparts in academics, social settings and in team sports.

  •  Family income status

 

 

Additionally, statistics show 40% of youth that are involved in extra curricular activities, tend to be on track academically, have a better attitude in and better attitude towards their family & peers. 

Extra-curricular activities such as dance, empowers our children by promoting critical thinking, while providing a positive outlet.

       Solid Foundation

The skills learned from a demanding and disciplined ballet class are very rewarding.  Ballet Arts teaches dancers to build a strong foundation, physically and mentally.

 

       Discipline

Ballet dancers learn self-discipline through commitment and strict etiquette rules; Students become more attentive and focused.

Learning and accomplishing a new skill is a wonderful way to increase your child's self-esteem and confidence.
